The scope of the problem

The human body is the temple of God. We the WAECA elites have seen the health needs of people in the valley. Infectiuos diseases are the most common ailment affecting our people. Common ones include Typhoid, pneumonia, diarhoeal diseases, and maternal and child health problems. And yes, recently, HIV AIDs has creeped into our valley.

Primary health care

At the moment we teach  mainly sanitation, better food handling, and campaign on ahealthy living. Many listen to the elites. We have seen that this becomes more effective after the sabath devine service. Christians tend to have more receptive ears.

HIV AIDs

The new big killer is in the valley. Few people have died. Many more will die. Many are probaly already infected. But we want to do something to prevent it from spreading too rapidly. One of our aims is to build a HIV AIDs center. This will be a reminder to the people about the diasese and also seminars will be conducted in this area.

Malaria Typhoid

Typhoid had existed in the valley for a long time. However, malaria is a new visitor. Thanks to global warming, the parasite is now being carried by mosquitos into the highlands. Many people have suffered seriously due to lack of immunity.

Malnutrition

Due to lack of proteins, many children are malnourished. Goat and sheep are very easy and cheap to be raised by villagers. WAECA elites encourage such.

Goat farming needs to be carried to a higher level. A animal husbandry center needs to be established to spread goat farming to most of the villagers.

Many elites and othe families now have good flocks of goats.
