Over 2000 trees planted in Warakamb Valley

Over 2000 eucalyptus trees were planted in the Warakamb Valley. The trees donated throught a grant from the office of climate change in Port Moresby was a high light during the convention. Most impressive was the involvement by children and mothers. Before and after the session, a talk on climate change was presented by Mr. Simon Peter. It was received very well. The people of Warakamb and the WAECA executive would like to thank the office of climate change in Port Moresby for the K1000.00 grant and for their trust in us to do a good job. The people in Warakamb have embraced the importance of climate change and the importance of planting trees. We hope to plant more trees in the future. Thank you, office of climate change and carbon trade.

This year, a record number of Warakamb people are living in Port Moresby. Most, if not all, are either students or doing something to make a living. Nobody is doing nothing these days. This has been helped by the economic boom that PNG is experiencing now and our two current MPs, Pr. Isaac Jacob and Minister Don Pomb Polye.

Our clergymen, elites and the executives have done a good job in keeping the Association going. We would like to encourage all WAECA elites to be present in Warakamb, especially in Winja in Dec2008/Jan 2009. God bless to all.
